According to the expert analysis, there is no any direct correlation between input power and exhaust. The one that directly affects the exhaust volume is the output power of the motor itself. The greater is the output power, relatively the stronger is the motor and the higher is the speed. Yet the input power labeled on the range hood is not equal to the actual output power of the motor. This is because of the international regulation that the motor power can not be greater than 120% of the nominal value but it does not require how much is less than the number. For example, a 100W motor labeled as 280W is also qualified. While testing the overall performance of range hood, we refer to not only the power of the motor, but also the air volume and air pressure parameters of range hood.
In addition to the power of the motor, to know whether the motor is full enclosed or semi enclosed is also very important. Generally the motor of side suction range hood produced in Zhejiang is full enclosed, of which the motor coil is generally full copper wired. Because the full copper wired one has low heat rate, fast cooling and resistance to burn. Therefore it can protect the motor better. The semi enclosed motor coil is generally wired with copper cladding aluminum, aluminum or iron, which is easy to burn with high heat rate and slow cooling.
